Abstract The standard revision process of YD/T 1312.8-2004,which is the Chinese EMC
standard for short-range devices operating on 9 kHz~40 GHz, is interpreted. The 
standard inheritance, categorization of products and details of standard revision are 
introduced. The impact of the standard revision is also evaluated.
