Abstract The revisionary technical contents and structure of IEC 60950-1 in its 
Amendment A2 are introduced. Two main modifications illustrated in Amendment A2, 
which may bring great influence for power supply design, are described: the 
withstand voltage requirements for gas discharge tube(GDT) basic insulation and 
humidity test for tropical condition. The corresponding design suggestions are also
given.
