Abstract An introduction to IEC 60335-1:2010+A1:2013(Ed. 5.1) as compare to the 
previous edition (Ed. 5.0) of the standard is mainly about its corrigendum and 
amendment, including functional earthing, temperature rise limits of parts, leakage 
current for different Class, fire resistance of parts of non-metallic material, appliances 
intended for use at high altitudes and battery powered appliances.
