Improving Field Uniformity of Reverberation Chambers at Low
Frequency by Asymmetrical Geometries and Wave Diffractors I
-Simulation with FEM
Abstract:
Truncated wedge cavity and ball crown diffractors(BCD)are combined to improve the
field uniformity(FU)of reverberation chambers(RCs)at low frequency. Mode density for
both of them is calculated analytically; then their effects on the field uniformity of RCs
are simulated respectively with finite element method. Comparison has also been made
between a truncated wedge cavity and a rectangular cavity, between BCDs and
Quadratic Residue Sequence(QRS).The results show that the loss of QRS is more than
that of BCDs under the conditions of this paper, and the FU improvement from BCD is
slightly more than that of QRS.
