EMC Problems of 5G Base Station Antenna and Solutions

At present, 5G mobile communication has been initially commercialized. On the one hand, due to the compatible use of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G systems, the base station antennas of the above systems need to be used together, which exacerbates the contradiction between the large number of base station antennas and the increasingly tight site resources. On the other hand, large-scale MIMO array is adopted by the 5G base station antenna system to achieve efficient coverage of the 5G signal, which requires the arrangement of hundreds of antenna units in a limited space. It leads to an increase in base station operating costs. The effective way is to reduce the number of base stations and operating costs is to use MBMA (multi-band multi-array) base station antennas with shared aperture. The MBMA base station antenna is obtained by integrating the sub-arrays which work in 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G band together and share a reflector and radome. By this way, the original base station resources can be fully used to achieve multiple network standard signal coverage and communication.
